The Dallas Police Department is expanding the Starlight Program to four new locations in Lake Highlands and Lakewood.
Last year, DPD began the Starlight Program, an initiative which targets high-crime gas stations, retail outlets and convenience stores in Dallas.
High-tech cameras are placed at these businesses, and police officers are able to see in real time what’s happening. Whenever a crime is occurring, they can immediately dispatch a patrol unit to the scene.
The first three locations were successful, so DPD expanded to these new locations:
- Chevron Gas Station, 2944 N. Buckner Blvd.
- American Dollar Plus Store, 9770 Forest Lane
- EZ Trip Food Store, 9798 Forest Lane
- Chevron Gas Station, 9791 Forest Lane
