While Hollywood is at a standstill, creatives in L.A. can’t help themselves from creating quarantine-style content.
LHHS alumna Amy Acker wrote, filmed and produced a short film with her husband James Carpinello. “Outside” is a 14-minute trip into the life of a couple quarantined from an ominous outside force. The wife’s mental state slowly unravels as she questions her husband’s intentions.
It can be described as “10 Cloverfield Lane” meets “A Quiet Place.”
The couple used Carpinello’s old iPhone to film the entire thing.
“We were constantly afraid,” Acker told Entertainment Weekly. “This is James’ 7-year-old, maybe 8-year old iPhone. We were like, ‘This is going to blow up your phone.’ There was so much content.”
