A White Rock Lake tributary that appeared polluted last week is showing water quality within ranges that indicate a return to normal stormwater parameters, a City of Dallas public affairs officer said.
On Thursday night, Dallas Water Utilities received a report of a water main break located between Malcolm Drive and Alderson Street, according to a Dallas City Council District 9 Facebook post.
Staff put de-chlorination tablets in the water main to reduce water pressure. The crew repaired the break and restored water service to the area, according to the post.
Dallas Water Utilities received another call Friday morning about water pollution on Bob-O-Link Drive. The milky-colored, odorless water was caused by high chlorine levels, according to the post.
The repair team traced the elevated chlorine levels to the Malcolm Drive water main break from the night before.
They cleaned the area, and permanent paving will be repaired.
Dallas Water Utilities will continue to monitor the area, Public Affairs Officer Estela Ornelas said.
