American folk rock band Slim & The Beast just released a music video from their self-titled debut album, and it’s getting lots of play as coronavirus quarantiners search for entertainment. The video was filmed, directed and edited by Lake Highlands High grad Nick Jones.

“Pasadena” has a breezy, wistful feel as Jones follows skateboarder Natalie Pluto through the streets of L.A. toward a California sunset. As Pluto meanders to the rhythm of the city, other boarders join her on her quest for Pasadena.

Slim & The Beast is made up of twin brother singer-songwriters Aaron and Samuel Lopez-Barrantes and French-American singer-songwriter Aurelien Amzallag. The band’s sound combines harmony-rich melodies with modern electronic pop.

In addition to making music videos, Jones knows a little something about longboarding. After earning a degree in video production and audio engineering from Belmont University in Nashville, he became a member of the Original Skateboards team. He made this video in Belgium with freestyle master Andrei Churakov, in which they both show off their skills. Nick’s Youtube channel is here.
