While some people are stockpiling hand sanitizer and toilet paper, trying to turn a profit on Craigslist, the neighbors of Lake Highlands have stayed true to the neighborly spirit.
A group of women who call themselves the ‘Edgy-Edgecove Mommas’ created the Edgecove Drive Neighbor Check this past weekend.
The group made a flier which reads,” CORONAVIRUS: Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” and handed them out to residents.
The flier, which was meant particularly for elderly residents, asks what type of assistance they may need; ranging from food delivery, toilet paper and even medication pickup.
“At this point we’ve had a few people ask for bottled water that that’s about it,” organizer Amy Timmerman told NBC. “I think here in a week I think we’re going to have a lot more need with seniors around us.”
