LHHS Basketball will celebrate Preston Lawrence’s 1,000th point as a Wildcat

Wildcat basketball games can get a little rowdy, with a loyal group of community fans and parents, plus a vocal student section cheering players on. This Friday will be special, though, as the team celebrates Senior Night and marks a milestone for senior Preston Lawrence. During the Torrey Pines Classic tournament in San Diego over the holidays, Lawrence scored the 1,000th point of his high school playing career.

Lawrence’s teammates and coaches will honor him at a 7 p.m. pre-game ceremony before the game tips off at 7:30 in the LHHS gym.

Lawrence received a full scholarship to play next year at Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma. During his time at LHHS, he’s earned All-District and Academic All-District honors and been named District Offensive MVP. He was the first freshman in 14 years to play on the varsity team, and that year his teammates gave him the Glue Award, for efforts to bring the team together.

Congratulations, Preston Lawrence.
