If you buy a ticket to see the Harlem Wizards game at Lake Highlands High School March 2, you might be careful about sitting on the front row. The zany professional basketball team doesn’t focus on winning games but on entertaining the crowd, and they’re known for pulling people out of the stands to be part of their act.
The Wizards will be in town to play the LH Cool Cats, a team of staff and band directors from elementary, junior high and high schools all over Lake Highlands. The fundraiser will benefit the LHHS Area Band Club, and online tickets range from $10 to $35. The game tips off at 6:30, but food trucks will be out front at 5 p.m.
The Harlem Wizards have raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations, schools and foundations around the world since they were created in 1962, and their blend of basketball skills and fancy trickeration are sure to leave patrons from age 3 to 103 amazed.
