Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League, in partnership with Lake Highlands West Homeowners Association, is a 2019-2020 recipient of the Dallas Neighborhood Vitality Grant for neighborhood engagement.
The DNVG program is a competition for annual funding to encourage neighborhood organizations to identify issues and implement projects that address those needs while creating engagement and increasing neighborhood pride, including the use of collaborations and partnerships.
LHJWL implemented a “growth strategy” to attract older aged children through holding age-appropriate activities that interest all ages to include an ice-skating rink on the day of the event, according to the DNVG website.
Other neighborhood organizations were also recipients of the grant including Chimney Hill HOA for beautification, Northwood Estates Neighborhood Association for signage and Skillman Bend Condominium Association for beautification.
These organizations are amongst the 19 who will split $100,000 for their projects to improve the neighborhood.
