Ride by Meredith Alloway

If you were the kid that dressed as a cowboy or a princess for Halloween, the Huluween horror short film contest might not be for you. If you enjoy a good scare and like supporting talented Lake Highlands High School grads, check out Meredith Alloway’s contest entry, Ride.

Best described as a spin-class-from-hell story, Ride is the best way to scare yourself witless in 6 minutes or less.

You can watch Ride on Hulu here or on Hulu’s YouTube channel below.

If you enjoy the show (or you’re completely creeped out in a good way), tweet, post and otherwise share it using the hashtags #huluween and #ride. The filmmaker with the most engagement wins Huluween Film Fest and receives $50,000 for their feature film project. Alloway says she’ll collaborate again with LHHS grad Justin Hamilton if she earns the prize.

Alloway’s last film, Deep Tissue, premiered at SXSW in 2019, and Interior Teresa, which she wrote, produced and directed, is streaming now on Seed & Spark. As a journalist, she’s done interviews and written feature pieces for Vanity Fair, Indiewire, Filmmaker Magazine and others, and she works as a producer and consultant for creative campaigns, spots and short films.
