There’s something about One Nostalgia Tavern that you just can’t fake.
The Lake Highlands dive bar was the setting for a locally produced feature film this past summer.
Now, a new show on Disney’s Freeform channel is set to begin filming there soon.
The show is called “Last Summer,” and it’s a one-hour drama thriller from writer Bert V. Royal and director Max Winkler. The producer is Jessica Biel, Mrs. Justin Timberlake, who also produced the excellent TV series “The Sinner.”
Last Summer is set over three years — ’93, ’94 and ’95 — in a small Texas town. A popular girl is abducted, and at the same time, another girl in town “goes from being a sweet, awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town and, by ’95, the most despised person in America.”
The show is expected to film at One Nostalgia Tavern Nov. 8-9.
