Oktoberfest: Everyone knows about Oktoberfest hosted by the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands, thousands of people from the Dallas area attend each year. They will feature some of the best local bands, plenty of fun for the kids and delicious restaurant offerings from brats to ice cream.

Rock swap: Looking to buy, sell or trade for your collection? You’ve found the right event! Members of the club, outdoor enthusiasts and those looking into the Gem and Mineral club are welcome to come. There are gems, jewelry, fossils, lapidary equipment, minerals and more on display for you.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow Cereal Party: Has anyone else fantasized about an all-you-can-eat cereal buffet where pajamas were encouraged? Well Alamo Drafthouse is fulfilling that fantasy with a double feature of “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.”

Long City Limits: The annual concert and fundraiser for the J.L. Long Middle School band will feature music from the school’s drumline, an alumni band, a mariachi band and an acoustic band. Enter a raffle to win gift cards to Shake Shack, Corner Bakery, Pizzeria Testa and jewelry by Molly Lane. All proceeds will be used to purchase instruments for the band.
