If your sparkly little one can’t wait for Dancing with the Dettes, drill team members at Lake Highlands High are holding a spot. If your tough-as-nails kid would rather be Wrestling with the Wildcats, the LHHS wrestling team will roll out the red (and white) carpet.

You did know Lake Highlands colors are officially red and white, not red and black, right?

Students in the wrestling and Highlandette dance programs at LHHS will host separate clinics from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 (State Fair Day holiday). Check-in is at 8:45. Dancers will enter the LHHS main entrance and work in the gyms and dance studio. Wrestlers will be in LHHS’ H building, formerly the freshman center.

K-8 wrestlers will learn techniques, watch exhibitions and participate in other fun activities. Online registration is $60 here. K-6 dancers will learn routines and receive pom-poms and a t-shirt. Online registration is $65 here.

A mid-morning snack and pizza lunch is included for both groups, and a show-off for parents will take place at 2:30.

Dance clinic participants have the option to perform with the Highlandettes during pre-game festivities of the LHHS Homecoming football game Oct. 18 against W.T. White at Wildcat Stadium. Go Cats!
