Students celebrated Erica Hoyt’s achievement with a mini parade. She rode through the halls on a float as students held signs and cheered her on.
Hoyt was named Richardson ISD’s elementary teacher of the year in May. She teaches third grade at Wallace Elementary. Hoyt along with another teacher of the year, Sonya Ayers, hosted a welcome week for teachers before school started.
Hoyt and Ayers included a “List of 10 things told us (or reminded us!) our first year and really every year after that.”
Hoyt also attended the Region 10 Teacher of the year luncheon to represent RISD.
