If you’re a movie buff who enjoys feeling a connection to the filmmaker, consider heading down to the Oak Cliff Film Festival this weekend. “Something Like Loneliness,” the short by brothers Seth and Ben Epstein, will be screened at 1:15 p.m. Saturday with six others. Seth and Ben are graduates of Hamilton Park Pacesetter Magnet and Richardson High, and Seth taught at HPPM before heading to Los Angeles.
“Something Like Loneliness,” which premiered at SXSW in March, is about upstairs-downstairs neighbors Dan and Mia. They’ve never met, but the thin floor between them offers its own kind of intimacy.
“Last year I decided to turn a little play about Tupperware called ‘Something Like Loneliness’ into a short film,” wrote Seth on Facebook. “We created something unique, funny, magical, sensitive, and most of all a kind film.”
