Luke Moran is the valedictorian for Lake Highlands High School’s class of 2019. He’ll head to Texas A&M University in College Station next fall.
Days before graduation, he reflected on his time at Lake Highlands. Moran, along with his classmates, will graduate at 4:30 p.m. June 2 at Lake Highlands High.
What is your fondest memory of Lake Highlands High?
Cross country. In the fall, it rained a lot and there was a foot of mud that we had to run through. I like running in the rain.
What will you miss the most about high school?
The people. A lot of people are splitting up and going all over the country for college.Â
What do you plan to study at Texas A&M?
Right now, I’m looking at finance. I just like math a lot and numbers. But that could change.Â
Why did you pick Texas A&M?
Both parents went there and I’ve grown up around it my whole life. It seems like a good fit.
How do you think you’ll be feeling on graduation day?
A little bit sad but excited for the future. I’m a little nervous about speaking just because there will be thousands of people there.
How do you plan to celebrate?
There’s a senior all night party at Dave & Busters that I’ll probably go to.Â
