Stuart Sides of The Lupners.
Roll out your coolers and grab your low-slung folding chairs. The first Lake Highlands Town Center Sundays in the Park concert of the year kicks off with The Lupners on May 5 in the amphitheater at Watercrest Park. You can pack a picnic or pick up dinner to go at Taco Diner, Fish City Grill, Jersey Mike’s or Sprouts. Don’t forget blankets and your beverage of choice.
The Lupners first started playing gigs together at Enchilada’s on Greenville Avenue in January 2007.
“We were a true garage band,” Bill Maselunas said. “Our first practices were in our drummer’s garage, no matter how hot or cold it was outside.”
The Lupners will sing everything from Willie Nelson to REO Speedwagon to Stevie Ray Vaughn to The Eagles. The free concert runs from 5 to 7 p.m.
