Lemonade Day

Enjoy some lemonade this May 4 and support refugee and immigrant students by attending Lemonade Day at REI and Half Price Books at Northwest Highway and Blackwell Street. Lemonade will be on sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cinco de Derby

Oak Highlands Brewery, at 10484 Brockwood Road, will host a joint Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo celebration from noon to 6 p.m. May 4. The “Cinco de Derby” event will have tacos, music, award-winning beer and a hat contest. So bring your best Kentucky Derby or Cinco de Mayo hat for the chance to win.

White Rock Lake Field Trip

Get your bird watching fix at White Rock Lake from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. May 5. Follow master birder Carrie Robinson as you explore the old fish hatchery and enjoy a two to three hour field trip around the lake. Clean up supplies will also be available for bird watchers who also want to keep the lake clean. Participants should park at the lake’s southwest parking lot at the end of White Rock Road.

Margaritas and Tacos

If you want to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on May 5, head over to Fish City Grill, at 7170 Skillman Street, for $10 tacos and margaritas ranging in price from $5 to $8.50. The deal runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sundays In The Park

Enjoy nature and live music in the park with friends or family at this week’s Sundays In The Park’s installment from 5 to 7 p.m. May 5 at Watercrest Park, 7070 Skillman Street. Local rock and roll band The Lupners will perform at the event.
