Lake Highlanders are just three months away from splashing into a new neighborhood pool. With summer swimming weather around the corner, check out progress on the construction of the Lake Highlands Family Aquatic Center.
Weather permitting, the pool will open in June, about a year after construction began.
The Advocate previously reported the aquatic center will feature a six-lane lap pool with diving boards, a climbing wall, a gentle-entry children’s pool with play structure and a 20-foot slide tower with two body slides.
There will also be a shade pavilion, umbrella tables and lounge chairs, along with a concession stand and a bathhouse that includes showers, family restrooms and lockers.
