Wrestlers and coaches at Lake Highlands High School are ready to enroll your son in their first-ever Wrestling with the Wildcats clinic to be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, over the President’s Day school holiday in the school’s “H” building gym, 10200 White Rock Trail. Coach Kevin Wainscott and Coach Ty Williams will lead the event, with demonstrations and assistance by varsity and JV wrestlers. Enrollees will spend the day learning techniques, watching exhibitions, playing dodge ball and enjoying other fun activities.

Online registration here is $60 plus a small fee, and wrestlers aged 6-14 (grades K-8) should bring their own snack and lunch. They’ll take home a “Wrestling with the Wildcats” water bottle as a souvenir, and parents are invited to arrive at 2:30 to watch their wrestlers in action.

At the district meet Friday hosted by LHHS, the Wildcats proved they know what they’re demonstrating.

Brandon Clarke, a junior at 170 pounds, Diego Aguilar, a sophomore at 220 pounds, and Thomas Caverlee, a freshman at 132 pounds, each qualified for the regional tournament this Friday and Saturday at Allen High. The top four finishers in each weight class at regionals will advance to the state wrestling tournament near Houston. Go Cats!
