Dallas Police shut down parts of the Creekside shopping centerĀ at Skillman-Abrams Saturday afternoon and closed the Wells Fargo Bank branch there after an angry customer created a bomb scare. The man, who had presented a fake ID to Wells Fargo employees, became angry when it was rejected. He left two suitcases behind when he left the building, and suspicious employees called police.
Officers arrived to evacuate the building about 11 a.m., and the police bomb squad wasnāt far behind. Police later said there was no bomb but did not reveal what was inside the bags. The man got away.
Traffic was snarled a bit at times as Christmas shoppers, movie goers and looky-loos tried to maneuver around the busy intersection and around first responder vehicles. The bank is expected to reopen Monday.
