CBS DFW reported that three firefighters were rescued after the floor collapsed in the burning Cambridge Park Condos in the 11000 block of Audelia. They were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An additional tenant using a walker was treated for smoke inhalation.

More than 100 firefighters and multiple fire trucks were on scene to battle the blaze, which began about 9:30 a.m. Smoke was visible for miles and traffic was rerouted by police in the Audelia/Skillman area just north of LBJ.

“We are very concerned about the approximately 19 families at this apartment complex that feed into Audelia Creek Elementary, Liberty Junior High and Berkner High School,” said Karen Clardy, Richardson ISD trustee. “We will do whatever is needed to ensure that these families are supported during this difficult time.”
