Dec. 29: An Old 97’s Christmas

Take in the nostalgia of an auditorium where Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and the Jackson 5 once played and join Lake Highlands’ own Rhett Miller for the Old 97’s Holiday Hoopla, from 7-11 p.m. The show also features Caseymagic, a “DIY punk-rock magician,” as well as a solo acoustic set from Miller. $27-$400.

Through Jan. 6: Holiday trains

The Trains at NorthPark delight children of all ages, and they benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Since 1987, the trains have raised more than $13 million for the nonprofit. $2-$4.

Tour extravagantly decorated Victorian-era gazebos representing “The Twelve Days of Christmas” song during a 3/4-mile walk through the garden. $10-$20.

In a decades-long tradition, all 12 homes on the Timberhollow Circle cul-de-sac are decorated for that Christmastime earworm. Just south of Royal Lane, turn west onto Moss Trail from Abrams Road, then take a left onto Moss Haven and a right onto Timberhollow. Free.
