- At 7 p.m., head to the Dallas Arboretum for The Wildflowers, a tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers for its Cool Thursday concert series. Tickets are $20 for members and $30 for nonmembers.

- In 1998, a group of dads performed in their kids’ talent show at Lake Highlands Elementary. Now they’re a bona fide classic rock cover band celebrating their 20th anniversary at Lone Star Roadhouse.
