  • Stay local: Head to Half Price Books when store staff will show off some of the strangest and worst album covers in their personal collections. Enjoy music and a fun discussion at 6 p.m.

Friday

  • Stay local: We probably don’t need to tell you Friday night lights has arrived, but we will (again) anyway. Mesquite vs. Lake Highlands kicks off at 7:30 p.m. You may need to bring a box of tissues, too. Former Skeeter Jordan Edwards, who was killed in April 2017, is being honored at the game.

Saturday 

  • Elsewhere in Dallas: You don’t usually hear shrimp sumai and craft beer in the same sentence, but Four Corners Brewing Co. is serving up eclectic Asian fare from noon to 3 p.m. Stop by the brewery at 1311 S. Ervay St. for pulled pork, shrimp sumai, chicken mo-mo, veggie gyoza and duck fried rice. Get more details here. 
  • Stay local: Roll it back to the ’80s at the Angelika for a showing of “Pretty in Pink” hosted by the USA Film Festival. Tickets are $12, and the movie starts at 7 p.m.

Sunday

  • Stay local: Seniors should make it to the White Rock Hills Library at 3 p.m. for some Tai Chi rhythms. Flex your joints, focus on your breathing and improve balance at this free class.
