Warstic founder Ben Jenkins demonstrates his bat to Coach Jay Higgins and Craig Rich

Rock star Jack White hasn’t announced who’ll play on his Warstic Woodmen baseball team Saturday when they take on The Ticket radio’s team for charity, but you can expect to see Lake Highlands High grad Ben Jenkins and possibly former Texas Ranger Ian Kinsler, who teamed up to create Warstic Bats with White. Since Jenkins played in the February Wildcat Alumni Classic, he may have recruited a few former LHHS players who still have the right stuff.

In The Ticket dugout, we know Lake Highlands resident Corby Davidson from The Hardline will be up to bat. Personalities Mike Rhyner, Ty Walker, Danny Balis, Dan McDowell, Jake Kemp, Michael “Grubes” Gruber and brothers Cash and Mike Sirois have all signed on, as well.

The Sandlot War, as they’re calling it, will be played Saturday at 6 p.m. at Reverchon Park. It is free and open to the public, but donations to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children are encouraged.
