Lake Highlands Angels can make the holidays memorable for LHHS families in need
Halloween is barely over and Thanksgiving is just a blip on the horizon, but if you’re already in the spirit of holiday giving, the counselors at Lake Highlands High School and the LHHS PTA have devised a way for you to help.
Through the Lake Highlands Angels program, you can show some love to a student in need. More than 100 students have been identified by counselors as likely to go without this holiday season, and the PTA is looking for individuals, families, businesses, community groups, Sunday school classes, scout troops, sports teams and others willing to make the holiday memorable. LH Angels can provide gift cards to be given directly to the student’s family for holiday meals and gifts and/or you may purchase items from a student’s wish list. The biggest need is gift cards, they say.
The matching of needy students and volunteer angels will take place the first week of November, so there’s no time to waste. Unwrapped gifts and gift cards should be returned to the LHHS library on Tues., Nov. 28th or Wed., Nov. 29th from 8 a.m. to noon.
