The Dallas Police Department Northeast Division has plans to honor service members among us at Veteran’s Day festivities Saturday, Nov. 11 at Lake Highlands High School. The event will include a pinning ceremony for veterans, a job fair for companies looking to hire vets and a video tribute from dignitaries around Texas.

The plans are in conjunction with DPD Northeast’s annual Kids Health and Safety Fair, where they will have free coats and flu shots and host 60 vendors offering assistance to children and vets. There will be a bicycle rodeo and drone presentation, free food from In-N-Out Burger and face painting for kids. The fair attracts 4000 each year.

If you’d like to donate a coat, volunteer a shift or find out more, you may email Officer Bervin Smith at bervin.smith@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us. You may also follow the DPD Northeast Division on Facebook here.

The Kids Health and Safety Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at LHHS, 9449 Church Road.
