Prost! Exchange Club planning Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest 2016

Exchange Club members are busy planning Oktoberfest 2017, the club’s 7th in Lake Highlands and 2nd at Flag Pole Hill. The Saturday, Sept. 30 event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Music will include live bands including Rymin’ n’ Stealin’, a Beastie Boys tribute band, Petty Theft, a Tom Petty throwback featuring Mike Rhyner of The Ticket’s Hard Line sports radio, Pearl Gem, lovers of all things Pearl Jam, and Parker Twomey, Lake Highlands’ own heartthrob.

There will be food from Kuby’s, One90 Smoked Meats, Urban Crust Wood-Fired Pizza (owned by Lake Highlands’ own Gisellu family), Shady’s Burgers & Brewhaha (also a product of LH), AwShucks Oyster Bar, Pokey O’s Cookies & Ice Cream, Bahama Buck’s Shaved Ice, Haute Sweets Patisserie, Crepe Crazy, Steel City Pops, Lone Star Kettle Corn and Oma’s German Treats. You can quench your thirst with drinks from Wild Bill’s Olde Fashioned Soda Pop, or try something a little stronger with a creation by Oak Highlands Brewery, owned and operated in Lake Highlands.

Tickets may be purchased here and you can become a sponsor here. Proceeds will support the Club’s many community projects and provide college scholarships for graduating Wildcats. Over the past 12 years, LHHS students have received more than $1 million in scholarships based on achievement and need.
