It’s the stuff of nightmares. A woman was asleep in her Melody Lane apartments when a man forced his way in and attacked her. After sexually assaulting the victim, the unidentified suspect fled into the night.
The incident took place on Sept. 22 around 10:30 p.m. in the 6200 block of Melody Lane. The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds with a muscular build. Police say he may have an injury on his hands.

This is the third sexual assault reported in a week. Last Tuesday, Juan Jose Rodriguez was arrested for aggravated sexual assault on a child at Lake Highlands High School during a Forest Meadow Junior High football game. The next day, a teen was arrested for repeatedly raping a 67-year-old woman in a Whitehurst Drive apartment.
