Blaine Hale is waking up this morning a national champion. His 5-man Oklahoma University golf team defeated Oregon, the defending titleholders, in the NCAA national championship Wednesday.
“This week’s been so special for us,” said Blaine in an interview with the Golf Channel. “I’ve just had a peace and a calmness about me this week. I felt really good about this week and it obviously ended in the right way.”
The Sooner sophomore and LHHS 2015 grad defeated Oregon’s Norman Xiong in head-to-head play, televised live on the Golf Channel. Blaine’s teammates are Max McGreevy, Rylee Reinertson, Grant Hirschman and Brad Dalke. Congratulations, all.
