He was a sweet, dear man, and a wonderful veterinarian …

He was one of my favorite people, always so gentle and practical about how to take care of my cats. His soft touch and sweet demeanor carried many of us through the toughest of times …

A Yelp reviewer captioned this simply, Best Veterinarian Ever

Based on the comments, Lindley also taught Bible classes at his church.

Those were but a few of the notes left on a Legacy.com obituary page for Doctor Lindley, who leaves behind his wife, Judy; his children Cheryl Calvin (well known as owner of The Store in Lake Highlands) and her husband Shane, Kent Lindley, Kevin Peavy, Tracy Roussey and Tracy’s husband Chris; grandchildren, Allison Calvin Self and husband Corey, Gregg Calvin, Kamryn Lindley, Marcus Roussey and Travis Roussey; brother Jim Lindley and his wife Pat and sister Linda McCourt and her husband John and countless more, according to his obituary.

Lindley’s services were held last weekend in Richardson. Because Lindley was a proud Texas A&M alum, those who wish to honor him may donate to Texas Aggie Ring Scholarship Fund, tx.ag/memorialgiving (memory of Joe W. Lindley Class of ’61).
