This is really all you need to know, from the invitation: “Features a ’70s disco pet fashion show.” OK, we suppose you’ll need a little more — it’s the annual East Lake Pet Orphanage Wine on the Roof fundraiser for the neighborhood’s most prominent vet, adoption, orphanage, shelter for pets, and it happens Saturday from 7-11:30 p.m. at 10101 East Northwest Highway. The theme is Can You Dig It? And The night includes wine and gourmet food, live and silent auctions and celebrity guests, to name a few things. This has grown into quite the event. Homicide isn’t typically hilarious, but this dark comedy has entertained audiences for 76 years. Watch the wacky antics of Mortimer Brewster and his bloodthirsty aunts in “Arsenic and Old Lace,” opening Friday at Pocket Sandwich Theater, 5400 E. Mockingbird Lane. Celebrity chef John Tesar continues his Sunday Cinema Series with the 2010 foodie film “The Trip” this week at 8 p.m. Held at his restaurant Knife, the night includes dishes specially paired with the film along with a drink. Tickets are $35, with $10 of every one sold donated back to the Dallas Film Society.
