It’s difficult to believe that Healing Hands Ministries ever had a “starting date” – that the organization providing low cost health and dental care to children and families hasn’t existed forever in Lake Highlands – but start it did, a decade ago. This month, Healing Hands will mark its first ten years with an anniversary celebration, and they’re inviting all of LH to attend and recall how far the project has come and how many have been served.

Healing Hands is the medical and dental home to more than 6,600 Dallas County residents and provides a vast array of services, including behavioral health, chronic disease management, diabetic education, minor surgical procedures, orthopedics and pediatrics. In June of 2016, they opened a satellite clinic in the new Northwest Community Center designed to serve the vast population of refugees at Vickery Meadows. That’s in addition to the main clinic, 8515 Greenville at Royal.

If you’d like to attend the 10th Anniversary Celebration Friday March 31 at 7 p.m., $25 tickets are available on the Healing Hands website here. The event will be held in the Great Hall of Park Cities Baptist Church, 3933 Northwest Parkway, with Dr. Jim Tennison delivering a keynote address and dinner by Wendy Krispin, caterer.
