Richardson ISD school board member Justin Bono has announced he’s seeking a second term, and he’ll begin campaigning soon in anticipation of the May 2017 election. Bono was elected in 2014 for a 3-year term.

“It has been a great honor to serve as a Trustee for the parents and taxpayers of Richardson ISD the past two and a half years working to give our students, teachers and employees the learning and working environment they deserve,” Bono told me by email. “I’m thankful to have the support of my family as I formally announce my intent to file for reelection next month to another three year term on the RISD Board of Trustees. With a newly forming administration and my fellow board members, I look forward to the pursuit of the still important work ahead of fulfilling the full potential of RISD for all of its students, employees and stakeholders.”

Bono is a 2012 graduate of Inside RISD and was named Exchangite of the Year in 2013 by the Lake Highlands Exchange Club. His two daughters attend Moss Haven Elementary and he is an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church.

Also completing her first term is Kristin Kuhne, who resides in the Pearce High School area. Kuhne is expected to run again, as well.

All 7 RISD trustees serve the district “at-large.”

We’ll keep you updated here on the blog if other candidates emerge in either race.
