The Wildcats’ football playoff run is finished this year, but you can relive the glory days of Lake Highlands High School football and revisit small town life in Texas in a new music video by country music star and LHHS alum Granger Smith.
“Tailgate Town,” the newest song from his album Remington, luxuriates in the joys of one-light towns, chores after practice, meeting friends at the Dairy Queen and state championships.
The fun, though, comes at the end of the video. That’s when Granger shares film of a football game at his alma mater Wildcat-Ram Stadium and shows faded newspaper clippings from his days playing on the Wildcat varsity team. One article celebrates a game, circa 1997, when Granger’s interception earned the win.
