The LHHS PTA invites you to Adopt-a-Family and brighten the holidays in Lake Highlands this year.

If the election season has you feeling blue (or seeing red), the Lake Highlands High School PTA invites you to channel to that energy toward creating a lovely Christmas for one needy family in our neighborhood. The organization is seeking LH Angels for their annual holiday Adopt-A-Family program – it is only 7 Saturdays until Christmas, after all – and they’re hoping local businesses, school groups, scout troops, community groups, Sunday school classes, sports teams and LH families will opt to jump in and help.

“This year the student list has grown,” says Sharon Kirkpatrick. “We have more than 122 families, which means about 350 people. We were just planning on adopting out the LHHS students this year, but many added their siblings’ requests. The kids have asked for everything from food to a refurbished laptop for doing their homework. Many of our LHHS PTA members will be adopting families, but we’d love to reach even further into the community. LH Angels can help by providing gift card donations to be given directly to the families for holiday meals and gifts or by purchasing specific gift items from the students’ wish lists. You can sponsor an entire family by purchasing one gift card or select one person and we can team you up with other Angels.”

Unwrapped gifts must be returned to the LHHS library by Wednesday, Nov. 30.
