Stevens joined WRE in 2014, but she’s hardly new to LH. She grew up here, attending Moss Haven and Forest Meadow before graduating from LHHS in 2001. She went to UT then got a Master’s in School Administration from Lamar University before teaching at Yale Elementary and Skyview. She served as assistant principal at RISD Academy after that.

“I absolutely love RISD and can’t imagine being anywhere else,” she told the WRE newsletter upon her arrival there. “I married my wonderful husband, Aaron, in November of 2011, and we had our first baby this past July. Our sweet Hank is our absolute biggest joy.” The couple added a second son, Sam, this year. “If you ever want to see a picture, just drop by my office, where I have a few (or a hundred).”

Stevens lives not far from LHE, and her parents, Lorri and Tom Lamberth, still live in LH, as well. Sister Maggie Lamberth teaches at Wallace Elementary.

“The Lake Highlands community is such a unique place,” said Stevens. “Having grown up in LH, I know firsthand how long the friendships last, and my very best friends to this day are the people I grew up with here.”

When she’s not on campus, Stevens stays busy.

“I love spending time with my husband and playing with Hank anytime I am not at school,” she told the newsletter. “I am also a huge sports fan, and we attend a lot of Rangers, Mavs and Stars games together. Football and baseball are my favorites to watch, and we cheer for the Longhorns and the Cowboys (however, I am not sure my husband can take much more grief from them). We enjoy being involved at our church, Park Cities Baptist, and love going to Top Golf, running around White Rock Lake, trying new restaurants, going to concerts (Old 97s are my very favorite) and eating Mexican food. You could likely see me and my family at the Lake Highlands Mi Cocina on any given night.”

Sullivan, meantime, has been promoted to RISD Elementary Executive Director of Instruction, Operations and Leadership.

“I have had the most wonderful opportunity to serve as the principal of Lake Highlands Elementary for the past 13 years,” she wrote in a message to parents. “I hope that our paths will cross again in the near future. Until then, please know that you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Remember, ‘Once A Wildcat, Always A Wildcat.”

Congratulations Ms. Sullivan and Ms. Stevens!
