And the OHB doubles down on its commitment to provide family fun to the Lake Highlands ‘hood on the regular, as they host Family Day Sunday, April 10, benefiting the Lake Highlands YMCA, another of the fun “give back” events filling up the new Lake Highlands business’ calendar. Founders Derrin Williams and Brad Mall said from the start they’d make community support as foundational as quality craft beer, and they even named one of their beers “Charity.” The event is part of the Y’s annual fundraising campaign, and proceeds will support the Y’s programs including Make-A-Splash to teach swim lessons in LH apartments, the Livestrong program for cancer survivors, Adventure Guides and Princesses and Child Watch. Family Day runs from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, with food, beer, sodas, a balloon artist, games and more. You’ll find Oak Highlands Brewery at 10484 Brockwood near Plano Road.
