The Exchange Club of Lake Highlands is preparing to host their annual Auction and Casino Party, and the western theme of this year’s “Wildcatter’s Ball” is bringin’ out the boot scooters.
The fundraiser, to be held Saturday, February 13 at the Westin Park Central Dallas Hotel, will feature gaming tables, a wine pull, live and silent auctions and a raffle. There will be a mechanical bull for cowboys (and cowgirls) who want to test their skill, and the Randall King Band will provide live music. Tickets are $50 each and may be purchased online here or by emailing Chris Halpin at c_halpin@yahoo.com.
Proceeds will go to the club’s many community projects and provide college scholarships for graduating Wildcats. Over the past 12 years, LHHS students have received more than $1 million in scholarships based on achievement and need. Projects include leadership and financial support of Family Compass (to prevent child abuse) and community events such as the Fourth of July Parade, Oktoberfest, Halloween Carnival and Jazz Under the Stars. They also present Youth of the Month and Character Counts awards, Teacher of the Year awards, Unsung Hero recognition, and quarterly recognition of police officers and firefighters.
The fun kicks off at 6 p.m.
