Two arrests have been made in connection to the Nov. 15 robbery at NorthPark Center. Carystal Jones, 21, and Sekeitha Brooks, 26, were taken to Dallas County Jail last week for the offense.
According to the Dallas Police Department, the women stole property from Dillard’s and fled the scene in a silver Ford Taurus. Jones was identified as the driver of the vehicle. The car “struck [a] security guard” and he subsequently jumped onto the hood to avoid being run over.
Seeing the scene, Kevin Hayden, an off duty police officer, drew his gun and fired shots at the vehicle. No injuries were reported and Hayden was placed on “routine administrative leave.”
Initial reports mentioned a third shoplifting suspect, but nothing more has been said about that individual. Police thank the community for providing tips that led to the arrests.
