Casa Linda, a shopping, dining and coffee-drinking destination for Lake Highlands dwellers who lack our fair share of such things, is now home to the sleek, sweet, frozen-treat retreat Steel City Pops. East Dallas reporter Brittany Nunn shows us the new digs.
More from Brittany:
The opening date is right in line with what general manager Jonathan Veazey told us back in August, when Steel City Pops first announced it planned to open a location in Casa Linda. The location opens every day at noon.
This is the fourth Steel City Pops inside the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including the one that opened on Lowest Greenville last year. This location is a little different, however, because they won’t actually make any ice pops on site. Instead, they will bring in frozen treats from the Greenville location.
“Our goal with stores like these is to have them close enough to the original store that people know they’re locally made with fresh ingredients, but it’s a little more convenient if you live in the Casa Linda area to pick one up there instead,” Veazey told us back in August. For that reason, the menu will be the same for the Casa Linda location as the Greenville location. Right now they’re serving up their fall menu, which includes flavors like pumpkin, carrot cake, eggnog and peppermint.
But then to totally change things up, the Casa Linda location has a second story inside, where people can hang out to eat. “The space currently has a little loft area,” he says. “It used to be an artist loft, but we’re going to use it as a hangout area.”
Hours are from noon-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and noon-10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Learn more on the website.
