LHHS community t-shirt

Members of the Lake Highlands High School senior class are selling a newly-designed community t-shirt, and they can’t wait to see the entire neighborhood sporting them around town.

The charcoal grey tees with a red print depicting LH’s center – the high school – were designed by Keith Beasley, father of senior Braden Beasley.

“The reason we made the shirts is so that we could help fund all of the things that the seniors get to do throughout the year,” says Braden. “From the all-night party after graduation to the prom location, the shirts are one of the many forms of fundraising we do. The shirt is also kind of like a memento, in that we can have it all throughout our college years, and it reminds us of the great things that happened at LH and all the great memories and friendships.”

The shirts come in all sizes from kids’ to adult 3XL and cost $14. They’ll be available at schedule pickup and other school-related activities, or you can email Becky Williamson, mom of class president Margaret Williamson (kentwilliamson@sbcglobal.net) , to arrange a purchase and pickup.

As you might imagine, Braden says he and the rest of the Class of 2016 are pretty excited about the upcoming year.

“This is the year where we get out of the high school life and start thinking about the rest of our lives and college,” says Braden. “I’ve already applied to various schools, and it’s really cool how, in one year, I’ll be out of the house. Also, it will be my 4th year on the varsity golf team, and it’s going to be sad leaving all my friends from the team, but we still have one more chance to make a run for state. Also, as seniors, we get to be the big dogs on campus and kind of run things. It’s a great feeling knowing you are the oldest students at school.”

Every class has a personality. How about this one?

“I would say the Class of 2016 is very ‘chill,’” assesses Braden. “We all just relax and hang out with each other. No drama.”

You’ll find Margaret, along with other officers Josue Corzo, Berket Gebermichael, Mark Garwood and Brandon VonSternberg at the school selling shirts, along with new senior principal Sharonda Tims (last year’s senior principal, Cecilia Galvan, is now at J.J. Pearce). Go Cats!
