That’s right, Lake Highlands Creamery, purveyors of homemade ice cream in a variety of noteworthy forms and flavors, is opening shop soon, albeit not soon enough, next door to Atomic Pie in the Lakeridge Shopping Center at Walnut Hill and Audelia.

Might this development provide a needed boost to the center and its locally owned pizza shop?

Until recently, creamery proprietor Sean Brockette peddled his frozen treats via an online store and at the occasional fair or farmers market. The web store has been temporarily down, cause for some concern among customers, but never fear, Brockette says, for it is about to reopen.

“In preparation of our [new store] opening we will be turning on our webstore and delivery service in the next couple weeks and having a couple pop up markets to test new flavors and get our menu finalized,” he says.

A firm opening date is not yet set.

“We … are in the process of getting everything sorted out with the city and the builders to bring the most exciting ice cream experience to Lake Highlands,” he says. “We have come a long way in the past few weeks and will keep churning away.”
