Molly, Liz and Charlotte at their first marathon together in Houston in 2004

With her 30th birthday approaching, Molly Gittemeier Arvesen decided she wants to mark it in a special way. Molly, a 2003 graduate of Lake Highlands High School and former teacher there, is rounding up friends Liz Casone Ming and Charlotte Clinton, also turning 30 this summer, to run a 30-mile course on Saturday, May 30th. They’re calling it “30 on the 30th for their 30th,” and they’re hoping friends and family will show up along their route to cheer them on.

The girls, who have enjoyed running marathons together since their days at Texas A&M, will begin at the home of Molly’s parents, Paul and Kelly, at Hillview and Stone River at 6 a.m. From there they’ll wind around White Rock Lake, through Lakewood, over to Uptown, though the Park Cities and back to the Gittemeier’s for hamburgers and a celebration of their feat. You can view their route here.

Happy birthday, girls – go get ‘em!
