As explained in yesterday’s post, we interviewed our neighborhood’s three city council candidates, two times each — one brief policy related Q&A and one “lightning round” interview. Over six weekdays we will share each video. We will post them in order of how the candidates are listed on the election ballot. If you can’t wait, you can watch them all here — right now — yes!
A little peek behind the curtains: we did not only do this for District 10. We also interviewed all of the District 9 candidates and are unveiling those on our Lakewood Advocate site. District 10’s Paul Reyes was our very first interview, so he suffered through some of the set and production kinks as we worked through them, and he was a good sport. On the plus side, he is accompanied by one gorgeous fern, yet unmolested by the parade of shoulder pads and irritated shoves delivered by many of the candidates who followed. (Sure, the fern is a subtle comedy bit, but one’s interaction with the fern can be telling.)
Further repeating our previous message, our singular goal with this video series is to inform readers about the election and encourage you to make an informed vote. After all, this is an important election. These questions obviously offer but a glimpse of the men who wish to represent District 10. Attend a district 10 forum — there is one Thursday at the Audelia Library at 7 and a debate Monday at the Lake Highlands Freshman Center at 7 p.m. — to learn more about these candidates.
