Angelina Jolie with Louis Zamperini

Angelina Jolie with Louis Zamperini

By now, you’ll recognize the movie in this new ad created by Dallas-based The Richards Group and you’re certain to recognize the iconic vehicle company sponsoring it, but can you place the voice? Here’s a hint: she’s a 2008 Lake Highlands High School graduate. Bonner Voss, who works in brand planning for The Richards Group, says she wasn’t on the team that created the ad celebrating the highly anticipated new film Unbroken, but since Angelina Jolie is the director, designers wanted a strong female voiceover. They asked Bonner to give it a shot, and the clients from Jeep/Chrysler brands liked her work. The ad is airing on TV until December 23rd, but you can watch it on Youtube here:

Unbroken is the story of Louis Zamperini, the scrappy Olympian captured by the Japanese after his plane went down in WWII. Zamperini overcame unbelievable cruelty and torture, eventually returning home to raise a family. He died last summer at the age of 97. (When Jolie went looking for Zamperini, hoping to make the movie of his life story, she found that, for ten years, they had lived within a stone’s throw of each other.) The film opens officially on Christmas Day, but if you like to be first, AMC Northpark, Studio Movie Grill and a few other Dallas theaters have showings on Christmas Eve.
