There is just one type of human being who can spit, drool and spew an amazing amount of vomit and still remain adorable — no, not 1990s Robert Downey Jr.

I mean babies.

When I go to a baby shower — and there just seems to be so many of them — I always toss a package of bibs in the gift bag. But — and I never had considered it until just now — those bibs are usually super-nerdy.

I mean, we’re talking little baby-rattle clip art or embroidered ducks on white terrycloth — these babies need some style.

And one Lake Highlands couple is cornering the market on baby bib fashion with their new company, Fresh Bib, an online, monthly subscription-based, designer bandana bibs line.

The bibs look like little bandanas in unisex colors and designs, are reversible, 100 percent cotton and one arrives in a cute recyclable package each month. A three-month subscription is $48, shipping is included. Several other options also are available.

Founders Adam and Brooke Fish are a photographer and designer, respectively, and parents of boys ages 9 and 6. Brooke graduated with a Fashion Design degree from University of North Texas and had been making and selling bandana bibs on Etsy as a way to “stay in touch with my creative side while being a stay-at-home mom,” she says.

These days, the duo runs Fresh BiB out of their home which includes a photography studio and sewing studio in the upstairs addition, Brooke says.

Their aim, they note, is to “create great design, encourage mommies and make bibs that keep babies’ shirts dry while looking stylish.”
