Healing Hands Tailgate Party
Thursday is North Texas Giving Day, and Healing Hands Ministries will celebrate with a community Tailgate Party from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at their clinic. Food trucks will be on hand to feed the crowd, and the Wildcat Wranglers, Lake Highlands High School Cheerleaders and Highlandettes will perform.
North Texas Giving Day in an online donation event for a variety of area non-profits, with Communities Foundation of Texas matching every gift of $25 or more. Contributions can be made from 6 a.m. to midnight on September 18 via the website here and amplified by $2 million in bonus funds and prizes. More than 75,000 donations were made in 2013 totaling $25.2 million to more than 1,500 non-profits.
Healing Hands serves as the medical and dental home for more than 4,000 uninsured living in Lake Highlands and surrounding communities.
