A mosquito pool near the 11900 block of Woodbridge has tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Weather permitting, the area above is scheduled for mosquito control spraying tonight and tomorrow evening, Sept. 4, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night.

The area to be sprayed is within an area generally bounded by Shadow on the north, Apple Creek on the west, Black Walnut on the east and Skillman on the south.

While the insecticide is approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, residents (and their pets) should stay inside during the spraying.

The city urges residents to report standing water — which can be a major mosquito breeding ground, contributing to the spread of the virus — by calling 311 or using the 311 mobile phone app.
