On a recent community work day, a team of off-duty police officers and other volunteers turned their attention to the Hamilton Park neighborhood in the Lake Highlands area.

According to a Dallas Police press release, DLF’s effort is concentrated, organized and effective.

“Community and faith-based organizations meet with DLF over a six-month period to plan and manage the event,” volunteer Darren Hughes says. “We need more neighbors helping each other in our communities.”

Team Captain Angela Elam who was raised in the Hamilton Park neighborhood says, “I was raised here and felt it was time to help out.”
